Workers’ Compensation Impairment Rating

Are you or a loved one injured in a work injury and have questions about how the workers’ compensation impairment rating is determined? Watch this video by Buffalo workers’ compensation doctor Michael Calabrese to learn more about the impairment rating and how it relates to your work injuries.

Good afternoon, Dr. Calabrese here at Medical Care of Western New York. I’ve had multitudes of patients asking me what an impairment rating is. An impairment rating, very simply, is the percentage of the degree of disability. At the beginning of your accident, that degree of disability is usually severe or partial. As time goes on and you become more aggressive in your treatment, and we improve your structure and function through your treatments, your percentage of disability degree will change. Thank you. Have a good day.
