Documenting Work Injuries
After being injured on the job, documenting work injuries is a crucial step to ensuring you can get the proper medical treatment you need. Watch this video by Michael D. Calabrese, MD where he explains why you should see a doctor immediately following a work injury so you can properly document your injuries.
Good afternoon, Dr. Calabrese here at Medical Care of Western New York.
It’s very important during a Workers’ Compensation injury that you document your injuries.
Many patients come in after a slip and fall where they hit their head and neck. Needless to say, 2 or 3 hours after their injury they realize that their shoulder and their back was also part of that injury but it wasn’t reported.
So please, make sure after a work injury that you document all body parts that have been injured. That way, the treatment will encompass all of the injured body parts.
It is also very important to make sure that your injuries are reported to your employer. Hope you have a great day, and if you’re involved in any work injury in Buffalo, please stop in and let us help.
